Co-Director Ryan Calo spoke with “Northwest Now” on its recent episode “Artificial Intelligence.” The program examined artificial intelligence and its potential benefits and downfalls, and consulted Calo as an expert who has been working in the field for years. Calo noted the region’s deep roots in the conversation (“Right here, about 40 minutes from where I’m sitting, we hosted the inaugural Obama White House A.I. Policy Workshop right at UW”) and the positive position it’s working from (“The region is so strong technically …and you have players like Microsoft, but also the Allen Institute. So I think here we are in this region, we’re really at the cutting edge.”).
