In November, the Lab hosted an international group with representatives from four South Central Asian countries as part of a larger U.S. visit of leaders exploring various areas of tech policy. They discussed a wide variety of tech policy issues with the Lab, as well as how different legislative processes in different countries can present unique challenges in sharing expertise with government officials.

Also in November, Professor Armen Khatchatourov from France visited the Lab as part of a larger French academic cooperative mission sponsored by the French Institute for Culture and Education, a division of the French Embassy.
Khatchatourov is Associate Professor of Information and Communication Sciences at the DICEN Lab, University Gustave Eiffel, Paris, France. His research interests are in digital identity, data privacy, AI/algorithmic governmentality and ethics, and he works at the intersection of information science, computer science and philosophy with a strong emphasis on normativity, public policies and law.
Khatchatourov gave a talk at a Tech Policy Lab Discussion session as part of his visit, and also met with students and other members of the Lab.
The visit was coordinated with the support of David Do Paço, PhD, Deputy Director of the French Institute for Culture and Education. The Lab plans to continue the conversation with Do Paço around investigating partnership opportunities in the future.
